The town of San Vicente del Raspeig is preparing to celebrate a new edition of the 'Mig Any de Moros y Cristianos', an anticipated event that will gather thousands of festival-goers and citizens at the Solar de la Festa. The City Council has organized a comprehensive plan of extraordinary services, featuring notable advancements in cleaning and security.
The Local Police will deploy a special operation, including the use of a drone to enhance surveillance and control over high-traffic areas. The primary objective is to prevent the proliferation of outdoor drinking gatherings and ensure safety by avoiding incidents and the entry of alcoholic beverages into the venue. Alcohol checkpoints will also be established at the entrances.
As a preventive measure against potential sexual assaults, the Department of Social Rights will set up a 'violet point' on Saturday night. Additionally, 1,000 reusable cups will be distributed to reduce single-use plastic consumption, alongside a campaign to raise awareness about cleaning and waste recycling, which will include a visit from an environmental educator.
To facilitate travel, the Department of Transport will offer a shuttle bus service with stops in various areas of the municipality. The service will run every 35 minutes on Friday (from 9:00 PM to 4:30 AM) and Saturday (from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM). Access by private vehicle will be restricted, with a designated parking area that includes spaces for people with reduced mobility.
The festival program will commence on Friday, September 25th, with dinners and music. On Saturday the 26th, the 'Entrada de Mig Any' parade will take place at 6:00 PM, featuring the participation of all 20 comparsas. Sunday the 27th will conclude the weekend with the traditional paella competition and meal.
