The State Society for Land Transport Infrastructure (SEITT) began laying off the 30 employees of the AP-7 toll station on the Alicante bypass this Monday.

The redundancy plan was implemented following the liberation of the highway section. The CCOO union criticized that the staff departure is occurring with the minimum legal severance pay, set at 20 days per year worked with a limit of 12 monthly payments, plus an average supplement of 7,500 euros per person.
Union representatives regretted that relocations to other public companies under the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility were not accepted. According to CCOO, the company did not facilitate transfers to other centers nor did it allow the hiring of external services for employee relocation.
Furthermore, the union warned that the process concludes without resolving the gender pay gap identified in the company's equality plan. Those affected had already exhausted their unemployment benefits during the 16 months of temporary layoffs prior to this final closure.
