The contract, which will last for one year, specifically from August 20, 2026 to August 19, 2027, will cover the energy needs for train traction, maintenance facilities, office buildings, as well as underground and surface stations of FGV in both provinces.
This procurement guarantees the electricity supply for the more than 270 kilometers of network and nearly 220 stations and stops that Metrovalencia and TRAM de Alicante jointly operate.
The contract is part of the annual expenses that FGV allocates to ensure the proper functioning of the service and its infrastructure. Valencia's metros and trams operate on six metro lines and four tram lines, covering 161 kilometers of network with 147 stations and stops.
In Alicante, the energy supply enables service on lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and part of line 9 of TRAM de Alicante, covering 111 kilometers of network and 71 stations and stops.
This award is linked to the consumption points of the Generalitat, its instrumental public sector, and adhering entities, based on the framework agreement of the Generalitat's Central Purchasing Office. FGV, as an instrumental public sector entity, adheres to this central office and the agreements managed by it.
