Alicante's Local Government Board has approved the tender for the 'Creative Residencies' program at Las Cigarreras for 2027 and 2028, with an investment of 125,116 euros.

The base budget for the contract to create and execute the 'Creative Residencies' program at Las Cigarreras for the 2027 and 2028 fiscal years amounts to 125,116 euros. This figure is equally distributed between the two years, with 62,558 euros allocated to each. The tender accepts lower bids and includes the possibility of extending the contract for an additional year.
Promoted by the Culture Department, this program aims to support contemporary creation. It seeks to foster interaction between different artistic disciplines, facilitate the development of creative processes, and strengthen ties between creators, institutions, and the local environment. The residencies are designed as open spaces for coexistence, critical thinking, and experimentation, engaging in a dialogue with the city's cultural ecosystem.
During 2026, the 'Creative Residencies' call selected six artistic projects that will be developed over four weeks, from October 6th to November 6th. These residencies offer participants a work environment focused on research, production, and exchange with other cultural agents. In its first edition, held in 2025, 225 proposals were received.
The call is open to artists, researchers, mediators, and artistic collectives over the age of 18 who are active in the field of contemporary creation.
