The work, supervised by the Integral Heritage department of Alicante City Council, has uncovered a family cemetery consisting of four tombs. According to those in charge of the intervention, the site stands out for the presence of elements linked to a warrior elite, including weapons such as falcatas, spears, shields, and spurs.
Among the recovered pieces, experts have highlighted a perfectly preserved female-headed censer, as well as a set of scale pans and various bronze objects. These findings allow researchers to place the site within the context of the Barcid conquest of the southeastern peninsula.
The material found will be kept by the city council in the City Museum warehouses. Archaeologists are currently working on the scientific report to document this space, which is located separately from the main burial area of Albufereta.
