The Shock Cleaning Plan in Alicante has increased high-pressure cleaning tasks in various city areas. The main objective is to reinforce pressure washing in squares and sidewalks to eliminate persistent stains, especially around benches, bins, and container islands.
To achieve broader coverage, an extraordinary afternoon shift has been established, extending interventions in different neighborhoods and areas. Among the zones being treated are Santa Faz, Vistahermosa, Altozano, Virgen del Remedio, Pío XII, Carolinas, and the North Zone.
The work is carried out using high-pressure cleaning equipment that performs thorough washes with water at high pressure. This technique is effective for tackling accumulated dirt, ingrained stains, and debris deposited in public spaces and waste collection points.
The use of high-pressure water along with disinfectant and descaling products allows for effective action against the most stubborn stains. Operators also pay special attention to improving the environment around container islands, aiming for a tidier appearance of public spaces and collection areas.
The Councilor for Street Cleaning and Waste Management, Rafael Alemañ, highlighted that the Shock Plan, promoted by the People's Party government in collaboration with Vox, has enabled the addition of over a hundred operators, new mobile equipment, and high-pressure cleaning vehicles. Furthermore, street cleaning has been reinforced in neighborhoods and extended to weekends and afternoons.
Alemañ emphasized that these additional resources allow for concentrating efforts on points requiring more intensive intervention, thus complementing the city's regular maintenance tasks.
Through these actions, Alicante continues to enhance urban cleanliness and neighborhood maintenance, with a particular focus on the areas around containers, bins, benches, and other spaces with accumulated dirt, utilizing high-pressure cleaning machinery.
