The city of Alicante kicked off its summer cultural series, 'Verano de Músicas', this Wednesday at the City Hall Square, which will feature 21 concerts until August 15th.

The project combines performances by the Municipal Symphonic Band with the city's four musical societies: Unión Musical ‘Ciudad de Asís’, ‘L´Harmonia Societat Musical d´Alacant’, Sociedad Musical ‘La Amistad’ de Villafranqueza, and the Agrupación Musical de la SCD Carolinas. The program also includes other groups and musical styles, prioritizing local artists to offer a diverse lineup featuring symphonic music, choral works, dance, musical theater, pop-rock, blues, and jazz.
This series takes over from the ‘Summer Brass Festival Alicante’, which celebrated its 15th edition this year and brought together 60 professional musicians and five concert groups from July 2nd to 6th, combining specialized training, concerts, and educational activities.
The Councilor for Culture, Nayma Beldjilali, highlighted that the aim of this summer cultural activity is for both residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy music and shows in an accessible way. She emphasized that both 'Verano de Músicas' and the 'Summer Brass Festival' are well-established and eagerly awaited by the public each summer.
The 'Verano de Músicas' program includes concerts throughout July and August. Notable performances feature the Municipal Symphonic Band on several dates, as well as acts by groups such as Mailers (pop-rock), the Conjunto Coral Alquimia with Italy's Coro Polifónico Gaspare Spontini, Vera Lu Quintet (vocal jazz), Compañía de Danza Española y flamenco José Soriano “Tronía”, Agrupación Musical SCD Carolinas, Coral Tabaquera, María Carbonell Blues Nood, Pilar Arejo, L´Harmonia Societat Musical d´Alacant, Slideboy Vegas & his blues buddies, Sociedad Musical “La Amistad” de Villafranqueza, and Asociación Cultural Aura with 'Nuestro último verano: una historia de Mamma mia'.
