The company Light Art Light Exhibitions, holder of the exhibition rights, will be responsible for the curation, design, production, and installation of the six shows planned for the museum's inauguration, which will open its doors in the last quarter of the year.
The contract, approved by the Local Government Board of the People's Party, amounts to 3,761,999 euros. The execution period will extend until the second half of 2029, including the dismantling of the sixth and final exhibition.
The exhibitions that the new cultural space will host include titles such as "Mecenazgo y Coleccionismo en la Casa de Alba", "Modigliani and His Friends", "Balenciaga and Art", "Masterpieces of the Baroque", "Chagall and the Mediterranean", and "Sorolla Through Light".
In parallel, the Government Board has approved the tender for a negotiated procedure without prior publication for the supply and installation of furniture for the exhibition space at the Casa de la Misericordia. This tender, with a base budget of 196,810 euros, had to be re-tendered after it was declared void on August 4th.
The museum will be located in the renovated building of the Casa de la Misericordia, within the Las Cigarreras complex. The refurbishment of this space has involved an investment of over 12 million euros, largely funded by European funds.
