The University of Alicante (UA) commemorates the centenary of the birth of actor Francisco Rabal with the exhibition "Centenario Francisco Rabal", which covers more than five decades of his professional career.

The exhibition, which can be visited from October 29th to December 16th in the Sala Miguel Hernández of the Sede Universitaria Ciudad de Alicante, brings together a selection of original graphic material related to his film and theater career, both in Spain and internationally. The exhibition is curated by UA professor John Sanderson.
The inauguration will take place on Thursday, October 29th, at 7:30 PM, and will include a guided tour by the curator and an in-person talk by Benito Rabal, the actor's son. Benito Rabal will share his professional and life experiences alongside his father.
The exhibition showcases original film posters, advertising guides, stills, programs, handbills, and magazines that document the evolution of Francisco Rabal's career and the advertising strategies of different film markets. Posters from films made between the 1950s and 1980s, such as "La gran mentira" and "Camorra, contacto en Nápoles", will be on display, along with Mexican posters for titles like "Nazarín" and "Viridiana".
The exhibition also includes advertising guides for films shot in the province of Alicante, such as "El hombre de la isla", and handbills from cinemas in the province from the fifties and sixties, such as the Cine Ideal in Alicante, the Gran Teatro in Elche, and the Teatro Circo in Alcoy, thus connecting the performer's career with the history of film exhibition in the province.
The exhibited material comes from the private collection of John Sanderson, a specialist in the figure of Francisco Rabal and academic director of the Master's Degree in Applied Dramatic Art. Sanderson has collected and documented materials related to the actor, creating in 2012 a virtual archive at the Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes and publishing in 2014 the book "Sed de más: La cinematografía internacional de Francisco Rabal".
