The competition, held on Saturday as part of the II Posa-hi tu l'accent! Festival dedicated to the dialectal varieties of the Catalan language, recognized the duo's proposal with a prize of 1,500 euros. Pau Marí, a graduate in Primary Education and Master of Secondary Education, and Sergio Alemán López, a Master of Secondary Education student, met at the Òscar Esplà Higher Conservatory of Music in Alicante.
The festival, which took place from October 23 to 25 in Tortosa, included lectures, round tables, exhibitions, and musical performances to promote the different dialectal varieties of Catalan. The University of Alicante was also represented by professors Vicent Beltran, who moderated a round table, and Sandra Montserrat, who participated in a debate on linguistic diversity.
Lluerna del Sud performed on Saturday night along with other participants from Girona, Pallars, Terres de l'Ebre, and Mallorca. After winning the award, the duo returned to the stage on Sunday during the closing gala, directed by content creator Cabrafotuda.
The first call for the contest received 47 proposals, suggesting the continuation of this initiative as a platform for new musical voices in Catalan. The festival plans its next edition in two years.
This award adds to other recent successes of the duo, including their victory at the I University of Alicante Singer-Songwriter Contest (InteractUA) in May 2026 and their performance at the II Mediterranean Singer-Songwriter Festival «Coves del Canelobre» on July 11.
Lluerna del Sud's next performance at the University of Alicante will be on November 19, at the autumn tea of the Linguistic Volunteering program.
