The commemoration will begin on October 2nd at the Casa de Cultura with the screening of the film Valenciana, directed by Jordi Núñez and set in the Valencian Community of the nineties. Following the screening, there will be a meeting with producer Xavi Crespo, the director, and some of the actresses.
On October 4th, the Agrupació Musical La Artística will offer a concert in the Plaça de les Cases del Senyor at 1:00 PM, performing a repertoire of pasodobles.
The main day, October 9th, will feature several events: a commemorative speech, the XII Exhibition of Plastic Artists, and the contemporary dance performance Dominare by Cia. Maduixa, directed by Joan Santacreu and recommended for ages 12 and up.
The celebration will conclude with the traditional parade of the Nanos i Gegants (Giants and Big-heads), which will wind through the town's streets, adding a festive and popular touch.
The Councilor for Culture, Júlia Tortosa Corbí, emphasized the goal of “celebrating who we are, valuing our culture and traditions, and offering spaces for participation and meeting for all citizens.” She added that the program aims to combine cultural proposals from different disciplines with activities that are part of the local identity and heritage, ensuring that October 9th is experienced both in the streets and in cultural spaces.
Through this initiative, the Monóver City Council is committed to a celebration that highlights Valencian culture and traditions while integrating contemporary proposals and spaces for citizen participation.
