Petrer City Council has launched a new call for transport grants for the 2025-2026 academic year, quadrupling the number of grants to 200 for students.

The initiative, promoted by the Education department, has a budget of 50,000 euros. Each individual grant consists of 250 euros, a measure that seeks to facilitate access to higher education and reduce the economic burden of daily commuting for local families.
Those registered in Petrer since September 1, 2025, who are studying Higher Vocational Training, university degrees, or official master's degrees are eligible. An essential requirement is that the educational center is located between 20 and 50 kilometers from the municipality and that the student regularly uses public transport.
The application period will be open from September 1 to 15. The necessary documentation, including enrollment certificates and transport payment receipts, is already available on the municipal website. It is essential that interested parties request invoices or certificates from the transport company in advance to properly justify the expenses.
