The councilors for Youth, Àlex Borrell, and Education, Ferran Gandia, received the students in the former plenary hall and later accompanied them to choose rooms. With this service, the City Council aims to support young students, who have less economic capacity, by facilitating access to rents at prices much lower than market rates. Furthermore, it seeks to promote Ontinyent as a university city and revitalize the La Vila neighborhood.
The student residence, located on Trinitat street, is a municipal property of 300m2 distributed over a ground floor and three upper floors. The building features 8 rooms and studios, four living-dining rooms equipped with an office kitchen, four bathrooms, a laundry room, and a terrace. The residence is furnished with complete sets of furniture and appliances, including televisions, washing machines, ceramic hobs, electric ovens, microwaves, and refrigerators.
This service complements the academic offerings, services, cultural programming, and healthy leisure activities that the City Council provides to young people who choose to study at the Campus of Ontinyent. Currently, the campus offers four bachelor's degrees (Business Administration and Management, Nursing, Sports Science, Early Childhood Education), a Master's degree in Health Psychology, and the Nau Gran program.
