Novelda's Health Councilor, Mélani Sánchez, participated in a working meeting convened by the Platform for the Defense of Public Health of the Elda Health Department. The gathering brought together municipal representatives from eight towns to analyze the healthcare situation and the needs of their respective populations.
During the meeting, the municipal official conveyed Novelda's primary healthcare needs, advocating for the expansion of the 24-hour ambulance service and the establishment of the Novelda 2 Health Center. These demands are considered priorities by the City Council to strengthen resources and ensure adequate care for citizens.
The meeting served to jointly address the issues affecting the municipalities within the Elda Health Department, particularly the difficulties in Primary Care, specialized care, and waiting times. The shortage of healthcare personnel was highlighted as a key factor impacting the functioning of services and patient care.
Representatives from Elda, Petrer, Villena, Novelda, Pinoso, La Algueña, La Romana, and Beneixama attended the meeting. The objective was to establish a coordination space between the municipalities and the Platform to continue addressing the Department's healthcare needs.
