The company A-Ingeniería Research Consulting will be responsible for designing the pedestrian and cycle path between Novelda's urban center and the La Estación neighborhood, with a budget of 23,000 euros. This project seeks to promote sustainable mobility, accessibility, and safety along this important route.
Mayor Fran Martínez highlighted that the initiative addresses a long-standing demand from La Estación residents and aligns with the government's vision for an "accessible and inclusive" city with better connectivity and more sustainable transport options.
The project will outline the creation of a pedestrian and cycle path on the left side of the route. The intervention will also include the installation of LED lighting powered by photovoltaic energy, incorporating sustainability criteria to enhance accessibility and mobility.
Martínez noted that the project's development, set to begin shortly, will require careful study to address existing level differences and boundaries before construction can commence.
This road, transferred to Novelda City Council in 2022, will be transformed into an urban connection. The goal is to establish an "adequate and dignified" link between the neighborhood and the urban center.
Once the project design is complete, the City Council anticipates starting construction during the first half of 2027, with development planned in phases.
