The City Council of Elda, through its Education Department, has released a detailed study on the Vocational Training (FP) landscape in the city and its real impact on the job market. The report, using official data from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports for the fourth quarter of 2025, confirms the strong employability of the courses offered in Elda's educational centers.
Currently, Elda offers 13 professional fields, including Basic, Intermediate, and Higher Level Cycles, Specialization Courses, and Basic Qualification Training Programs (PFCB). The Councilor for Education, María Gisbert, emphasized the crucial role of these studies: «Vocational Training has consolidated itself as the most direct and effective path to stable, quality employment. Having 13 professional fields in Elda not only enriches our city's human capital but also positions our young people with a competitive advantage in the job market».
The study reveals a clear alignment between the educational offerings of Elda's institutes and the sectors with the highest employment insertion rates in the Valencian Community. Regionally, the Administration and Management field, taught at IES La Melva and CEEP Miguel de Cervantes, leads hiring with 25.21% of total FP graduate contracts. Following this, the Health field, with specialties like Dental Prosthetics or Dietetics at IES La Melva, accounts for 18.66% of regional hiring. Rounding out the top three is the Sociocultural Services and Community field, offered at IES Valle de Elda, which covers 14.30% of contracts.
María Gisbert stated that «the data supports that the commitment to diversify and promote health, administration, and social care cycles in our city's centers responds to a real market demand. We will continue working together to adapt classrooms to the new needs of the productive sector».
The report also highlights gender differences: sectors like Sociocultural Services (89.65% women), Health (84.05% women), and Administration (77.95% women) show a marked female profile. In contrast, technical areas such as Electricity and Electronics (95.20% men) or Information Technology and Communications (75.32% men) exhibit a clear male predominance. The councilor emphasized the municipal commitment to breaking these gaps, encouraging women's entry into technological sectors.
Furthermore, the importance of promoting Elda's traditional industrial sectors, such as Textiles, Garment, and Leather (at IES La Torreta) and Food Industries (at IES Valle de Elda), was stressed, as they are fundamental for qualified generational succession.
Finally, Gisbert recalled «the significant commitment made by the Botànic Consell to promote and expand FP offerings in our city and throughout the Valencian Community, a commitment that contrasts with the current Consell's austerity policies in public education».
