The Elda City Council will soon unveil a bronze sculpture in honor of singer and actor Pedrito Rico, one of the most representative figures of local and international culture. The work, created by Elda-based artist Carlos Martínez, will be located in the upper part of the Plaza Mayor.
This initiative aims to recognize the career of Pedrito Rico, who achieved success on stages across Spain and Latin America, always acting as an ambassador for Elda and proudly showcasing his roots.
The inauguration ceremony, starting at 8:00 PM, will be presided over by the mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, and will include the presence of the artist's family members. Elda-based singer Alba Ed-Dounia will offer a musical tribute, performing songs by Pedrito Rico.
With this new sculpture, Elda continues to highlight the legacy of its cultural figures in public spaces, joining the sculpture of Antonio Gades installed three years ago.
