The construction company will be responsible for replacing the bollards in Plaça de Baix, as the current system is not functioning as expected. The work will take place next August at no cost to Petrer City Council.
The Urban Planning councilor, David Morcillo, explained that although the square was inaugurated three months ago, an anomalous operation has been detected in the semi-automatic bollards that regulate access. "The raising and lowering of the bollards has been difficult, observing that many did not fit well and did not have the expected usability," Morcillo stated.
Following various technical checks, the company has concluded that the most suitable solution is to replace the current bollards with fully automatic ones. "Whether due to a manufacturing defect or because this model has not offered the expected performance, the company will replace all bollards with new ones, at no cost to the Council, as the intervention is covered by the work's warranty," the councilor detailed.
The work will begin next week, taking advantage of August to minimize inconvenience to citizens and surrounding businesses. Additionally, the intervention will be used for finishing and maintenance tasks, such as replacing damaged tiles and special cleaning of the pavement.
Regarding the trees, it was indicated that some specimens that have not thrived will be replaced starting in September, following technical recommendations.
