The Castelar Theater Symphony Orchestra has unveiled the program for its VI Symphony Season 2026/2027, which will consist of five concerts between September 2026 and July 2027. This initiative aims to solidify symphonic music as a fundamental pillar of Elda's cultural programming.
The Councilor for Culture, Iñaki Pérez Rico, and the artistic and musical director of the orchestra, Octavio J. Peidró, have presented a season designed to offer diversity in styles and formats, with the goal of bringing symphonic music to a broad audience. Pérez Rico highlighted the quality of the musicians and the importance of maintaining a stable symphonic offering in the city.
The season will kick off on September 5, 2026, at the Teatro Castelar with the concert ‘Fiesta del Pasodoble’, featuring a selection of famous pasodobles in symphonic arrangement. The second concert, titled ‘Seises neoclásicos’, will take place on October 24 at the Auditorio ADOC, with pieces for wind sextets and piano, and harpsichord concertos.
On January 3, 2027, at the Auditorio ADOC, ‘Voces de Acullá: de la Catedral al Rock’ will be presented, a journey through vocal music from ancient classical to rock, featuring Shlomo Rodríguez and Octavio J. Peidró.
The fourth event, on March 6, 2027, at the Auditorio ADOC, will be ‘Sturm und Drang’, with violinist Luis Segura as the guest artist. The program includes Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.
The season will conclude on July 23, 2027, at the Terraza Salones Princesa with ‘Una historia del saxo’ (A History of the Saxophone), part of Elda 40gra2, featuring local musicians Andrés Rico and Manuel Mondéjar.
Tickets for the Teatro Castelar will cost 5 euros, and for the Auditorio ADOC, 6 euros. The closing concert will be free.
