The Serra City Council has launched a campaign to support sexual diversity policies, with a particular focus on the LGTBI+ community. The project, named "Serra, diversity, respect, and coexistence", aims to foster a more respectful and diverse society within the municipality.
This initiative is supported by a grant of 2,229.32 euros from the Provincial Council of Valencia and includes various actions. Among the most notable are the drafting of the First Sexual Diversity Plan of Serra, as well as citizen participation activities, a sensitization workshop, and a dissemination and visibility campaign.
The mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón, has emphasized the importance of diversity as part of society and expressed the council's desire that "all people can live and develop in our municipality with freedom, respect, and equality". Tusón highlighted that the Sexual Diversity Plan will allow them to "better understand the reality of the municipality and establish the necessary tools and actions to continue advancing towards a more inclusive Serra".
The initiative seeks citizen involvement to build a more inclusive locality and integrate the perspective of sexual diversity into municipal policies. With this step, the Serra City Council reaffirms its commitment to promoting equality, respect, coexistence, and defending the rights of the LGTBI+ community.
