The forest fire declared in the Serra Calderona, near Segorbe, was stabilized this Sunday, allowing the residents of Gátova to return to their homes.

The situation of the fire, which started last Thursday due to a lightning strike, has evolved favorably, moving to level 1. This has allowed for the de-escalation of the alert level and the reduction of the extinguishing forces.
The regional secretary for Emergencies, Fernando Lasheras, announced that currently 130 personnel are working in the area, along with members of the State Security Forces and Corps, and ten aerial resources that will continue to cool the area to prevent flare-ups.
The residents of Gátova, who had been preventively evacuated on Friday due to the proximity of the flames to the municipality, have already begun to return to their homes, with police vehicle escort to ensure traffic flow.
The fire, which has affected a significant part of the Serra Calderona, has been contained thanks to the joint work of firefighters and the Military Emergencies Unit (UME). The Valencian Government has confirmed the deactivation of the Coordination Procedure for Prevention, Extinction of Fires and Rescue Services (SPEIS).
Additionally, a yellow alert for rain has been established for the coast of Castellón and the northern coast of Valencia, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which will begin on Sunday at 03:00 AM.
