This investment, which amounts to 18,026 euros, is part of the Modernization and Improvement Plan for the police force. The main objective is to provide officers with more advanced technical resources to identify points where speeding occurs and prevent accidents within the municipality.
The new equipment will allow for random checks in residential areas and school environments, responding to citizen requests. The device includes a tripod, a compact laptop with a touch screen, and a specific training course for officers, ensuring proper service.
The speed camera has a range of 1,200 meters and can detect speeds of up to 320 kilometers per hour. Furthermore, it is prepared to operate both day and night thanks to an automatic filter that improves visibility in low-light conditions.
This measure adds to other actions taken by the council in recent years, such as the installation of raised pedestrian crossings, speed bumps, and educational radars, with the goal of reducing accident rates and improving the quality of life in the municipality.
