The concern focuses on Malvarrosa beach, where not only has the commitment to restore the service after the northern coastline regeneration works been broken, but the old modules have been reinstalled. The councillor for the area, Roberto Rovira, has pointed out in a letter that the necessary hydraulic infrastructure for these elements to function is non-existent, rendering them completely inoperable and conveying an image of neglect.
This situation causes confusion among users, who expect to use a service that does not work, leading to public discontent and among neighborhood associations. The demand to remove the modules is reinforced by a recent inspection from the Blue Flag program, which recommended the removal of non-operational infrastructures.
Furthermore, storms have rendered the pipeline that served the foot-washing stations unusable. According to Rovira, the Conselleria de Turisme (Tourism Department) promised to restore the network after the northern Sagunto beach regeneration works, but not even a project for this action has been drafted.
The councillor considers it unfeasible for the works to be completed before the end of the summer season, as they require authorization from the Coastal Demarcation. Therefore, Malvarrosa beach will remain without a foot-washing station service for a second consecutive summer, harming residents and visitors alike.
Rovira calls for urgency to resolve this situation, which has dragged on for too long, and emphasizes that the coastline deserves infrastructure in line with the destination's quality and citizen demands.
