Aigües de Sagunt and CCSA have signed the contract to conclude the connection work for the stormwater and sewage collectors in Macrosector III Fusión, an expansion area between Sagunt and the Port. These works, with a deadline of less than three months, will put an end to the inefficiency and danger of these systems, which were left unfinished by the urban developer years ago.
Shortcomings in the sewage system necessitated the provisional connection of the canalization's final point to the nearest network via pumping. Meanwhile, rainwater drainage occurred in a field, creating a stagnant pool with unpleasant odors. The new collectors will have diameters ranging from 500 to 1,400 millimeters, with an extension of 273 meters for wastewater and 260 meters for stormwater, at installation depths between 4 and 5.5 meters.
The project includes a sustainable urban drainage system for precipitation and three separators with a treatment capacity of 600 liters per second, aimed at removing suspended solids, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, and nutrients.
The works also foresee the installation of 14 new wells between the two networks. One of these wells, located just before the connection to the main collector of the Palancia river, will feature a non-return valve to prevent the entry of external effluents.
