Faura is bringing its August Festivities to a close with a blend of cultural and religious events, including an innovative concert and the traditional Baixà of Santa Bárbara.

The municipality of Faura is preparing for the conclusion of its August Festivities with a program combining culture and tradition. One of the highlights will be the performance by the Cuarteto de Cuerda Valencia, scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd, at the Canaleta Park auditorium. This prestigious ensemble will present an innovative musical proposal, merging chamber music with hits from Spanish pop and rock.
With 15 years of experience, the Cuarteto de Cuerda Valencia, composed of Paloma Castellar and Lola Bendicho on violins, Mara Ponce on viola, and Teresa Alamá on cello, is known for its versatility. They perform everything from classical pieces to pop, rock, and electronic covers, creating unique experiences, according to municipal sources. The show will feature new arrangements of iconic 80s and 90s songs, such as Los Secretos' ‘Déjame’ and Mecano's ‘Hijo de la Luna’, following the fireworks display scheduled for 11 PM.
As a prelude to this concert, on Saturday, August 22nd, Faura will experience one of its most cherished and emblematic events: the traditional Baixà (descent) of the image of Santa Bárbara from the hermitage to the parish church. This devotional procession will begin at 9 PM and will include the participation of the Escola de Danses de Faura, the colla de dolçainers i tabaleters, and the Gegants i Nans of Sueca. The Societat Joventut Musical de Faura will provide the musical closing for this occasion.
The festivities will conclude on August 24th with the ascent of Santa Bárbara back to her hermitage. This year's celebrations have been marked by high participation and a diverse offering for all ages, including children's activities, bull running events, solemn processions, and moments of community gathering.
