The session, taking place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the Rectorate and Social Council building's esplanade, aims to bring the phenomenon of solar eclipses closer to the general public. It will explain the causes of these astronomical events and provide recommendations for safe observation.
Attendees will be able to observe the Sun directly and safely using special solar observation telescopes, which allow viewing details like solar atmospheres, flares, and prominences. Conventional telescopes with approved protective filters will also be used to locate sunspots.
The scientific outreach team from MUDIC will guide the activity, answering questions and offering practical advice for safely viewing the Sun and upcoming eclipses.
This initiative is part of the commitment of both the UMH and MUDIC to promoting scientific culture, offering an educational and safe experience of astronomical phenomena.
