In the ordinary August plenary session, it was unanimously approved to delegate the collection of the sewerage fee to SUMA starting this year, 2026. Additionally, a credit modification was approved for the purchase of premises on San José street, corner of Marqués de Molins, which will house part of the Social Services department.
One of the most significant points of the session was the resignation of socialist councilor David Fernández Ortiz, number two on the Socialist Group's list. The municipal corporation recognized his work, and his position will be filled by María Márquez Bonmatí, the next candidate from the PSOE.
It was also noted that the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response (AVSRE) granted an individual Public Commendation to four members of the Santa Pola Local Police who saved the life of a man suffering from cardiac arrest.
The approved credit modification amounts to 55,000 euros for the payment of VAT on the future purchase of the premises. The City Council will sign the deed of sale next October for a price of 266,000 euros plus VAT. The finance department managed to reduce the final price by 24,000 euros, deducting the rent paid in previous months.
The plenary session concluded with congratulations from the spokespersons of all municipal groups and the mayor on the occasion of the upcoming patron saint festivities.
