The event, starting at 6:30 PM, will feature Grégoire Ahongbonon, president of the Saint-Camille Foundation (San Camilo de Lellis Association for the mentally ill). Ahongbonon will deliver a talk on the reality of liberating individuals with mental illness who are chained to trees in Africa, as well as the subsequent support process for their social reintegration.
The Councilor for Childhood, Family, and Seniors, Aurora Rodil, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in raising awareness for an international cause led by the founder of the Saint-Camille Foundation. Rodil reiterated the municipal commitment to awareness and support for International Cooperation projects that defend human dignity and the fundamental rights of the most vulnerable groups.
Also participating will be Elche-based psychiatrist Javier Sempere, who noted the creativity and help he witnessed in Africa, and psychologist Claudio Fuensalida. Fuensalida shared his firsthand experience after traveling 2,000 kilometers to observe the foundation's work, a mission that left them "profoundly surprised."
