The Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) is opening the exhibition 'La Albufera' tomorrow, featuring professor Teresa Marín from the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche with her work 'Zona de fluctuación'.

The Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) is hosting the new exhibition titled 'La Albufera' starting tomorrow, July 8th. The exhibition includes the participation of Teresa Marín, a professor in the Art Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, with her work 'Zona de fluctuación'.
The official inauguration will take place at 8:00 PM at the IVAM facilities in Valencia. The event will be attended by the Minister of Education, Culture, and Universities of the Valencian Government, María del Carmen Ortí, and the director of IVAM, Blanca de la Torre.
Marín's work, 'Zona de fluctuación', is a multi-screen video installation with quadraphonic sound. It was produced by IVAM in collaboration with UMH and addresses the intersection of interests and tensions generated by the use and management of water and territory within the Albufera Natural Park. The piece is the result of a year of research and observation in the park, with external collaborations including musician Miguel Gómez, Enrique Salom (documentation and 3D visualizations), and architect Carolina Ihle (technical advisor).
In addition to Teresa Marín, the exhibition, curated by Sandra Moros, features works by other artists such as Bleda y Rosa, Paula García-Masedo, Jorge Yeregui, Lucía Loren, and Jorge Ribalta. The exhibition proposes an interpretation of the Albufera territory from historical, cultural, political, and social perspectives, spanning from the mid-19th century to the present day.
The exhibition will be open at IVAM until October 18th. Over the coming months, parallel activities such as talks and workshops are planned. On July 8th, prior to the inauguration, a conversation between the participating artists and curator Sandra Moros will take place.
