The Department of Women of the Elche City Council has announced the launch of the Violet Points, which will be operational from August 7 to 14. These points, expanded to five for the next two years, will be managed by the company Psicología y Servicios Educativos SL.
There will be three fixed points located at the Municipal Barracks at UMH, the Barraca Jove, and the Racó Fester. Additionally, two mobile points will patrol the municipal barracks area and the city center to provide coverage.
The established hours are from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM in the municipal barracks area (except on the 13th, starting at 12:30 AM), from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM at Barraca Jove (with the same change on the 13th), and from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM at Racó Fester (also with a change on the 13th).
Complementarily, from the Casa de la Dona, equality promoters will be present in the mornings from August 10 to 14 near the Racó del Paseo de la Estación to offer information.
A team consisting of five psychologists, five equality promoters, and one coordinator will be responsible for providing attention and advice. Flyers, fans with information, and cup covers will be distributed.
This service will also extend to events such as Halloween, New Year's Eve, and the festivities in the Elche districts of Torrellano, El Altet, La Marina, La Hoya, Las Bayas, and Matola.
Last year, the five designated spaces recorded 5,281 interventions. The fixed points handled over 3,700 inquiries, while the mobile units accounted for approximately 700 interventions in the barracks area and 832 in the city center.
Furthermore, the Comprehensive Care Service for Women (SAIM) provided 835 services by social workers and 726 by psychologists in the first half of 2026, with 59 requests for Atenpro registrations, resulting in 194 active cases as of June 30.
