The Novelda Youth Council is celebrating its 40th anniversary next Friday, September 25th, with a commemorative gala. The event, taking place at 8:00 PM in the Civic and Social Center, will bring together individuals who have been part of the entity's history and youth participation in Novelda over four decades.
The gala aims to commemorate these 40 years of trajectory, recover the memory of the Council's different stages, and especially foster an encounter between the various generations of young people who have been part of the entity. The celebration was presented by the Council's president, David Castillo, accompanied by the Youth Councilor, Rubén Millán, and Lucía Belda from the Sozializa consultancy.
The gala, hosted by Paula Rocamora, will feature the presence of the Director General of the Institut Valencià de la Joventut (IVAJ), Vicente Ripoll. It will serve to recognize all individuals who have presided over the Novelda Youth Council during these 40 years, as a token of gratitude for their dedication.
David Castillo highlighted that the gala aims to go beyond the anniversary commemoration and become an opportunity to introduce the Council to young people, bring them closer to the entity, and encourage their participation, stating, "our driving force, what makes us function, are them." He emphasized the importance of new generations understanding the Council and the work developed.
The event will include performances by the theater group Art Crear, musical act The Broken Room, graffiti artist Humo Hernández, and collaborations from Álex Segura and the IES Vinalopó, rounding off a gala designed as an encounter between different generations and expressions of youth culture.
Throughout these 40 years, the Council has served as a space for meeting and participation for Novelda's youth, driving initiatives and conveying concerns. The celebration also seeks to encourage the incorporation of young people into citizen participation and the city's development.
