The initiative, themed «No is no longer an answer» this year, seeks to raise public awareness about the reality of neurodegenerative diseases and highlight the importance of support, care, and resources for both diagnosed individuals and their caregivers.
Activities will continue on Monday, September 21, coinciding with World Alzheimer's Day, with a fun and participatory event in the Plaça del País Valencià. On Monday, September 28, a talk titled «Loving in a time of forgetting» will be held, led by Luis Lozano, a digital creator known for his social media presence, who will share a true story related to Alzheimer's. The following day, the film ‘El hijo de la novia’, a romantic drama centered on dementia, will be screened.
Throughout September and October, workshops will take place at the municipality's residences and day center, focusing on memory and recall through music. Additionally, students from the Dependency Cycle at IES de l'Eliana will participate in these activities during October.
This program complements the town's ongoing resources such as Aula Gran Activa’t, ActivaMENT, ActivaMUSICAiMENT, and the cognitive stimulation workshop, all designed to promote active aging and maintain autonomy. Furthermore, sessions titled «Caring to be cared for» will be held between October and November, aimed at relatives and caregivers of individuals with neurodegenerative diseases.
