Urbanization works around the Martínez Valero stadium in Elche.

The Elche City Council has initiated redevelopment works around the Martínez Valero stadium, a project that will transform 24,490 m² to improve mobility and safety.

The works, covering an area of 24,490 square meters and awarded for 3.2 million euros to PAVASAL Empresa Constructora S.A.U., have an execution period of five months. The goal is to significantly enhance mobility and safety for access to the sports venue, especially during Elche CF matches and other major events.
The project includes the creation of new roads, two new roundabouts to improve traffic flow, wide accessible sidewalks, landscaped medians, new lighting, and parking areas. Mayor Pablo Ruz highlighted that the initiative will transform a currently underdeveloped space into a "large green corridor, with wide sidewalks and the planting of numerous trees," aligning the surroundings with the "greatness of Elche CF and the city."
New avenues will be constructed, such as Manuel Martínez Valero Avenue (approximately 375 meters long with two lanes in each direction) and José Esquitino Sempere Avenue (about 410 meters with four traffic lanes, a central median, and a pedestrian promenade).
The execution of the works is being coordinated with the Local Police, Elche CF, and event organizers to minimize disruptions, maintaining stadium access throughout the construction. The planning also allows for the works to be compatible with events like the Cridà a la Festa.
Deputy Mayor Francisco Soler thanked the work done to commence these projects, which will give the area an image "in line with the importance of the Martínez Valero."
