The Orihuela School of Art and Design (EASDO) celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 27, bringing together the educational community at La Lonja in Orihuela to commemorate five decades of history.

The central event for EASDO's 50th anniversary took place on October 27 at the Auditorium of La Lonja in Orihuela, under the slogan «50 years projecting talent, creativity, and design». The school gathered institutions, faculty, current students, and alumni to review its history and look towards the future.
The event was attended by authorities including Esther Gómez, regional secretary of Universities; Fani Blanch, director of ISEACV; José Vegara, mayor of Orihuela; Vicente Pina, councilor for Education, and Maribel García, director of EASDO. Representatives from other art and design schools, conservatories, and higher education centers from the Valencian Community and Orihuela were also present.
The event combined historical memory with the school's present reality. Testimonials were heard from former students, now design professionals, who shared how EASDO influenced their careers, and current students presented their work.
Following the ceremony, the 50th-anniversary exhibition was inaugurated, featuring award-winning student work from all disciplines. The celebration concluded with live music from the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Pedro Terol of Orihuela, reunions, and a toast. The exhibition can be visited at La Lonja until November 27.
This event marks the beginning of a program of activities extending until the end of November, including lectures such as one by photographer Eugenio Recuenco on October 30, the III Research in Design Conference on November 5 at the Miguel Hernández University, and a talk by the Gallego Brothers on November 26.
