Torrevieja City Council has awarded the basic and execution project design for a future underground parking facility located in Encarnación Puchol square in La Mata.

The contract, which also includes the reorganization and comprehensive renovation of this public space, has been formalized for 141,570 euros. The design team will have a maximum period of six months to complete the technical documentation, including the health and safety study and the waste management plan.
Prior to this phase, the council carried out various technical studies, such as a geophysical survey of the subsoil, a geotechnical analysis, and a parking demand study. These tasks are essential to evaluate aspects such as the water table and the presence of urban services in a consolidated coastal area.
The final goal is to tender a concession that allows for the construction and operation of the parking facility, as well as the transformation of the square. The project seeks to increase green areas and vegetation to provide shade, thereby improving functionality and accessibility for residents.
