The Orihuela City Council, through its mayor Pepe Vegara and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Agustina Rodríguez, has announced the approval of a significant subsidy from the Conselleria de Serveis Socials, Família i Infància. This financial aid, amounting to 229,586.25 euros, aims to equip the premises of the Occupational Center Oriol.
This subsidy for equipment follows a previous one of 350,000 euros, also from the Generalitat Valenciana, which was allocated for the renovation of the same center earlier this year. The new funding will cover the supply of furniture, furnishings, and various equipment, including audiovisual and IT material, for the offices and classrooms of the Oriol and CRISOL/CRIS social centers, located in the new Edificio Oriol at 13 Dr. García Rogel Avenue.
As explained by Agustina Rodríguez, both lots of the contract have been awarded. During the month of September, the furniture delivery will take place, which includes tables, chairs, cabinets, shelves, lockers, blinds, and other office and classroom elements. The second lot will provide IT equipment such as computers, printers, projectors, screens, and sound systems.
Mayor Pepe Vegara emphasized that this subsidy demonstrates the City Council's "constant concern" to provide the users of the Centro Oriol with facilities "as they deserve," ending the "long journey" they have experienced since DANA in 2019.
