The Albatera City Council has exceeded 719,000 euros in investment for the improvement of rural roads and infrastructure during 2026, with notable actions on the Camino de la Violanta.

The Albatera City Council continues to advance in its commitment to improving the municipality's rural infrastructure. This year, an investment volume exceeding 719,000 euros has been allocated to the renovation of roads, improvement of accessibility, and modernization of basic services in various rural areas.
In this context, the Department of Agriculture and Urbanism, headed by Antonio García, is currently carrying out works to condition a section of the Camino de la Violanta. This project has a base tender budget of 47,402.17 euros, including VAT, and is part of the subsidy call from the Provincial Council of Alicante for rural roads.
The Camino de la Violanta shows significant deterioration in several points, with surface irregularities, gullies, and eroded areas that hinder vehicle circulation. The project includes differentiated actions in two sections: the first will involve surface scarification, extension of artificial gravel, and pavement replacement with a triple surface treatment; the second section will feature continuous pavement of concrete reinforced with polypropylene fibers. The estimated execution time is approximately 45 calendar days.
The intervention on the Camino de la Violanta is in addition to other investments made throughout 2026. Notable among these is the renovation of the road surface of the San Cayetano, Los Serranos, Pedruscal, and del Prado roads, included in the Plan Planifica of the Provincial Council of Alicante, with an investment of 475,000 euros. Furthermore, the surface of the Camino de La Murada has been renovated, also under Plan Planifica 2026, with 177,000 euros. These interventions are complemented by the expansion and renovation of the drinking water network in the Moco area, with 20,000 euros.
In total, these actions represent an investment of 719,402.17 euros during 2026, reflecting the investment effort to improve Albatera's rural infrastructure.
The councilor for Agriculture and Urbanism, Antonio García, highlighted the importance of these actions for ensuring better access and circulation conditions on the municipality's rural roads, especially for farmers and residents who regularly use them. He emphasized the fundamental need to improve rural roads to facilitate travel, guarantee access to agricultural holdings, and enhance the safety of those working in the field daily. The institutional collaboration with the Provincial Council of Alicante was also highlighted.
