The municipality of Peñíscola has joined the Turisme que Suma initiative, an alliance that brings together thirty Spanish destinations to promote a more responsible and sustainable tourism model.

This accession represents the local government's commitment to a manifesto that seeks to improve destination management through planning, innovation, and collaboration between administrations, the private sector, and citizens.
Among the main objectives assumed by Peñíscola are data-driven decision-making, the conservation of local heritage, and the improvement of coexistence between residents and visitors. Likewise, it seeks to reduce the environmental impact of tourism activity and optimize working conditions in the sector.
The plan also emphasizes technological innovation for tourism management and the need for greater coordination among all stakeholders to address the challenges of seasonality.
