The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, visited the municipality of Sant Mateu this Tuesday to check the status of the works at the Convent of Sant Domènech. These works have been funded with almost 3 million euros from the Government of Spain.
The visit is part of the actions the ministry is undertaking to supervise projects funded by state funds in different parts of the country. The Convent of Sant Domènech is a historic building of great heritage value for the Baix Maestrat region.
The investment of almost 3 million euros has allowed for a significant rehabilitation of the building, including structural consolidation, facade restoration, and improvement of interior spaces. The aim is to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the area, as well as to boost cultural tourism.
