The Ontinyent City Council has awarded a contract for 114,357.83 euros (VAT included) to install a new intelligent access control system at the municipal sports center, an initiative set to be completed within three months.

The contract, awarded to the company Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas, SA, involves the implementation of a comprehensive security system. This system will encompass closed-circuit television (CCTV), access control, communications, and centralized video management across various areas of the sports complex.
The Councilor for Sports, Ferran Gandia, highlighted the challenge of managing a facility exceeding 80,000 m², which includes sports courts, football fields, a swimming pool, a velodrome, and indoor rooms. Gandia stated that the deployment of this system will significantly improve the management and maintenance of these public infrastructures.
According to the technical project, state-of-the-art electronic systems for video surveillance and access management will be installed. These systems will be fully integrated with the Local Police and the Municipal Security Department. A video surveillance control center will be established at the Local Police building to facilitate incident monitoring and security needs.
Ferran Gandia emphasized the necessity of updating control and surveillance systems to meet current demands, given the facility's size and high annual user traffic. He also noted that this investment will optimize municipal resources and streamline the work of the staff responsible for managing the sports facilities.
