The town of Ontinyent has had to suspend the Band Parade Contest, scheduled for Saturday, due to heavy rainfall.

The Ontinyent City Council and the Societat de Festers have decided to cancel the Band Parade Contest, which was to take place at 6 PM, due to persistent rain throughout the afternoon. Initially, the event was postponed to 7 PM in the hope that the storm would subside, but the improvement did not occur.
The competition, which featured 24 musical ensembles, has been declared void. However, the organization is maintaining the choral performance of the Moorish march "Chimo" for 8:30 PM, hoping for a break in the precipitation. This event holds special significance this year as it coincides with the centenary of maestro Ferrero.
Both the city council and Festers have asked the participating bands to remain in Ontinyent to take part in this joint performance, which, weather permitting, will be conducted by Pilar Ferrero.
