The director of L’ETNO, the Valencian Museum of Ethnology of the Diputació de València, Joan Seguí, visited Agullent for the exhibition «Sostenibilitat. Museus Km 0», which can be seen until October 14th at the Exhibition Hall of the Casa de la Cultura.
Seguí toured the exhibition, an initiative by L’ETNO and collectively developed by the museums of Etnoxarxa, the Network of Local Ethnological Museums of the Diputació de València. The exhibition reflects on sustainability through traditional knowledge, techniques, and ways of life, highlighting practices such as repairing, reusing, exchanging, or collaborating. The director experienced firsthand the installation in Agullent and the municipality's connection to the project through the Museu Molí Fariner.
The mayor of Agullent, Pau Muñoz, expressed satisfaction in hosting Seguí and sharing an exhibition that connects with heritage and traditional wisdom. He emphasized the importance of the Museu Molí Fariner's participation in the Etnoxarxa network, recognizing it as a key space for understanding Agullent's history and its relationship with water and agriculture.
The exhibition demonstrates how many current sustainability practices were already part of traditional lifestyles, including repairing objects, utilizing materials, managing water, preserving food, and traditional crafts. It promotes ethnological museums as local spaces for transmitting knowledge and techniques linked to the territory.
According to the mayor, the exhibition offers younger generations an opportunity to learn about past ways of living and resource management, understanding the enduring value of ancient knowledge today.
The exhibition «Sostenibilitat. Museus Km 0» is open at the Casa de la Cultura until October 14th, during its regular opening hours from Monday to Friday.
