The Agullent City Council has completed the digitization of a significant portion of its municipal historical archive, spanning from the 16th to the 19th centuries, which is now available for public consultation via the Generalitat Valenciana's SAVEX portal.

This initiative will enable the digital preservation of an important collection of old documents and books from the Municipal Archive. The measure not only ensures the conservation of the originals but also facilitates access to this documentary heritage for researchers and anyone interested in the local history of Agullent.
The digitization, carried out in 2025, was made possible by a grant of 1,970.04 euros from the Generalitat Valenciana. Subsequently, the incorporation and description of the archives into SAVEX were coordinated by Neri Arques, archivist for the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Vall d’Albaida, who advised on the documentation's publication process.
The task of making the digitized documentation available on the platform was carried out by Isabel Benavent as part of her internship for the Campus Rural program. This initiative encourages university students to undertake training in rural areas, contributing to the development of these municipalities.
With this addition, the resources for understanding Agullent's documentary heritage are expanded, complementing the material already accessible through the Municipal Graphic Archive. The City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to the conservation, digitization, and dissemination of local historical memory.
