The Tavernes de la Valldigna City Council has presented the complete program for the 2026 Major Festivals, to be held from September 10th to 20th. Mayor Lara Romero and the Councilor for Festivals, Carlos Torres, detailed an offering that combines leisure, musical, and cultural proposals designed for the entire population. The traditional opening speech will be given by the Senior Citizens' Theater Group.
The festivals will include notable concerts such as La Casa Azul on Friday, September 11th, followed by DJ Totote. Saturday the 12th will feature the 20th anniversary of the Xarangues Competition, and at night, the musical Kronos. On Sunday the 13th, the municipality will host the decorated streets contest and a concert tribute to Nino Bravo by the Societat Instructiva Unió Musical de Tavernes.
During the following week, the main square will be the stage for various performances. On Tuesday the 15th, local dance schools will showcase their talent. On Wednesday, the show España en un Suspiro will offer a journey through Spanish music. Thursday the 17th will be dedicated to the elderly, with a giant paella by Galbis and a tribute to Isabel Pantoja.
The anticipated paella night on Friday the 18th will feature the orchestra Scream, and Saturday the 19th will be the costume night with the orchestra Montecarlo. Additionally, young people will enjoy parties like Remember, Bendita Locura, and the Gran Festa Jove, while the youngest will have activities such as La Colla Pirata, the Children's Costume Parade with Trobadorets, and the children's theater WOOOW.
Among the traditional events are the descent and ascent of the Crist de la Sang, the procession of the Divina Aurora, and the offering to the Verge de Lourdes. The festivals will conclude on Sunday the 20th with the show La Pepa by Pepa Cases and the traditional fireworks display.
The 2026 Festival Book, which includes tributes to the Grup Escolta La Valldigna for their 50th anniversary, can be collected from Monday, August 3rd, at the City Council and the Tourist Office. Mayor Lara Romero emphasized the desire to create an inclusive program that fosters town pride, while Councilor Carlos Torres highlighted the joint effort and collaboration with local associations.
