The executed works have involved repaving approximately 800 meters of the access road, creating a bike lane, and implementing safety enhancements, including the adaptation of a roundabout at the entrance to Xeraco Playa to facilitate cyclist passage. Second Vice President Reme Mazzolari highlighted the collaboration between the Council and municipalities on projects impacting resident mobility and safety. She added that the investment extends beyond the sporting event, representing a permanent improvement for Xeraco.
The first phase is finalized before Saturday, August 29th, when Xeraco beach will host the end of the eighth stage of the Tour of Spain, arriving from Puçol after a 171-kilometer route. The mayor of Xeraco and provincial deputy, Avelino Mascarell, emphasized the importance of having the cyclists' route fully prepared, thanking the construction company for completing the asphalt work in under a week. Mascarell noted that, despite the acceleration due to the Tour, the project will provide a lasting improvement for residents and visitors.
The second phase will focus on constructing a new roundabout on Camí del Mig, a point with high traffic intensity. This infrastructure will help organize movements and enhance safety, also connecting with the new bike lane. The mayor pointed out that the roundabout is being designed with future connection to the Natzaret-Oliva road in mind, another provincial project. This comprehensive planning will improve safety on Camí del Mig and the Vaca River area, completing the axis between the urban center and the beach.
