Councilor Miguel Ángel Picornell has today responded to the PP's criticism regarding the Gandia-Valencia C1 Cercanías line, highlighting investments and the introduction of new trains.

Councilor Miguel Ángel Picornell has responded to the Popular Party's criticism about the situation of the Gandia-Valencia C1 Cercanías line. Picornell regrets that the PP "continues to be stuck in negativity and posturing, without contributing" and emphasizes the ongoing improvements, with over 170 million euros committed by Adif to modernize the line and meet citizens' needs.
The councilor recalled that the Ministry of Transport recently announced the incorporation of 41 new trains for the lines serving Gandia, Xàtiva, and Castellón. These new units will increase capacity by 30%, offering more daily seats thanks to more modern trains. The C1 Gandia-Valencia line will also benefit from this fleet renewal, which, according to Picornell, represents "good news for Gandia" and "bad news for the PP".
Picornell stressed the importance of looking out for Gandia "above all else, without partisanship," unlike what he claims the PP does. He stated that the problems of Gandia's citizens are their own, and therefore they have "on numerous occasions called for solutions" and proposed improvements and investments for a "vital" line used by thousands of citizens daily.
The councilor admitted that the Gandia-Valencia Cercanías service "is functioning in a way that could be improved" and requires "more frequencies and better services," as well as "more improvement actions." He highlighted that the planned investments, such as the duplication of the track between Cullera and Gandia or the new electrical substation in Gandia (costing 8 million euros), are moving in this direction.
Finally, Picornell concluded that his team is dedicated to "working" and not "standing aside," unlike the PP, which he urges to "contribute solutions and not just criticize." He assured that they will continue to maintain an "exigent and demanding attitude" towards all administrations to convey citizens' needs and turn them into "realities and solutions".
