The municipal initiative, commencing on August 17th, will provide a voucher of 30 euros per student for the purchase of cultural and school materials. This aid will benefit approximately 9,000 students from Primary Education, ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education), and Special Education enrolled in Gandia.
Mayor José Manuel Prieto, accompanied by councilors Elena Moncho (Economy and Commerce), Esther Sapena (Education), and Balbina Sendra (Culture), highlighted that the program offers direct support to families, strengthens education and culture, and boosts local commerce, as the voucher can only be spent at affiliated establishments within the city.
Eligible products include reading books, notebooks, writing materials, calculators, musical instruments, backpacks, and pencil cases. Applications can be submitted online starting August 17th, and vouchers can be used until October 31st, 2026.
As a new feature, three support points will be established at the social centers in Grau, Benipeixcar, and Joan Climent to assist individuals with digital difficulties, bringing the service closer to the neighborhoods.
Councilor Elena Moncho explained that participating businesses must register online and can submit voucher justifications every fifteen days, with a deadline of November 30th.
Education Councilor Esther Sapena emphasized that the measure promotes equity and supports families and small businesses, noting that sufficient budget is allocated for all eligible applications.
