Mayors and Youth Councillors from the municipalities of La Safor will meet this Thursday, October 29th, at 6:00 PM at the Benipeixcar Social Center in Gandia for the regional Forum «Towns in Youth Key». The meeting, convened by the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor, aims to offer a shared perspective on the region's youth reality and open a space for reflection and coordination among municipal officials.

The session will be opened by the Director General of the Institut Valencià de la Joventut, Vicent Ripoll Gimeno; the third Vice-President of the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor and delegate for Youth, Paula Femenia Ortolà; and the Councillor for Youth of the Gandia City Council, Inma Rodríguez Calderón. Subsequently, Calaix Jove will be presented, along with its operations and lines of work with the municipalities.
The central part of the forum will be a participatory dynamic titled "What are the young people in our towns like?", led by Salvador Avià i Faure, professor, researcher, and head of territorial projects at the Youth Chair of the University of Valencia.
The day will include two Erasmus+ experiences led by young people from the region: one from the Network of Youth Correspondents of La Safor, with participation from IES Vall de la Safor in the ASE+ project, and another experience with youth correspondents from the Gandia City Council. The institutional closing will be by the Mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto Part, and the forum will conclude with a toast.

"One of the great opportunities we have as municipal officials: to share experiences, learn from each other, and build a network of municipalities that allows us to go further."

Inma Rodríguez Calderón · Councillor for Youth of Gandia
The Gandia City Council will present three of its own initiatives: Encaixem, la Veu Jove, and the Corresponsal Juvenil program, with the aim of exchanging ideas, identifying shared needs, and exploring new forms of collaboration. Councillor Rodríguez Calderón emphasizes that, despite the different realities and resources of each municipality, the common challenge is for "young people to find in public institutions a space for support, participation, and opportunities".
The Forum is organized by the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor and Calaix Jove, sponsored by the Gandia City Council, and in collaboration with the Youth Chair of the University of Valencia and the IVAJ.
