The Gandia campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) hosted Educast 2026, a conference that brought together professionals and researchers to reflect on new sound narratives and the potential of podcasts as a tool for expression and social inclusion.

The event analyzed the evolution of radio and podcasts, as well as the opportunities offered by new sound communication formats. According to professor Raúl Terol, the objective is to "reflect on the transformations of radio, new ways of narrating, and the possibilities of podcasts as a tool for expression, participation, visibility, and social inclusion."
The conference, aimed at the university community and those interested in radio and sound communication, provided a space to exchange ideas on new ways of narrating in the digital environment and the role of sound formats in representing diverse social realities.
The first session, "La radio después de la radio: imágenes, innovación sonora y nuevas formas de narrar" (Radio after radio: images, sound innovation, and new ways of narrating), featured Juan Manuel Prieto Arosa (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela) and Ana Sofia Paiva (Universidade Nova de Lisboa). They discussed how radio and podcasts are evolving with the incorporation of images, digital platforms, and social networks, exploring new narrative possibilities through sound experimentation.
The second session, "Todas las voces cuentan: pódcast y diversidad" (All voices count: podcasts and diversity), focused on the potential of podcasts for social inclusion. Participants included Marc Savall, host of the podcast "En diversidad"; Fran Stark, responsible for "Viviendo la diversidad"; and David Carrera, from the Centre Amencer-Aspace in Vilagarcía de Arousa. They shared their experiences on how podcasts give voice to diverse groups and foster inclusive communication spaces.
With this edition, the Gandia campus of the UPV reaffirms its role as a meeting point for dialogue on sound communication and its contribution to a more diverse and participatory society.
