Several fires affected abandoned land this afternoon in the Mareny Blau area of Sueca, forcing the deployment of a large extinction service to protect nearby homes.

The fire, the origin of which is yet to be determined, required the intervention of four fire crews and five forest brigades. The Sueca Local Police had to guide the emergency teams to the affected points due to the difficulty of accessing the terrain.
As a preventive measure, a basic life support unit and a SAMU unit were dispatched to the scene, although their intervention was not necessary as no injuries or damage to surrounding houses were reported. The rapid intervention prevented the flames from spreading between the plots, which were exacerbated by the state of the vegetation and high temperatures.
This event occurs during a time of maximum fire risk alert throughout the Valencian territory. The Generalitat Valenciana has established pre-emergency level 3 until Thursday, July 9, which entails restrictions such as the prohibition of driving on forest tracks or the suspension of sporting events in these areas.
Given the heatwave, the Sueca City Council has reminded plot owners of the obligation to keep their land clean and cleared to reduce the risk of fire spread. Likewise, the current prohibition on burning plant remains and the use of machinery that could generate sparks in the agricultural environment remains in force.
